thank you ting tongs for visiting my house for hari raya plus the awesome delicious durian mooncake! :D it looks really cute too. sorry for making you all feel super bloated! hahaha

i failed my first maths midterm test. Got two out of ten. Hahaha, physics and maths is just not my thing since I am struggling with my foundations but ohwells. I'll just do my best and see what happens in my next four years in engineering. As kak farhana says, just do your best and leave the rest to Allah :) I'm sad la but haha, i'll probably forget about it soon. Many depressing stuffs have happened lately anyway so i've kind of learnt to shrug it off and move on. Alhamdulillah, I have my family and friends to thank :) Love you all!

Hari raya has been really meaningful this year :) Thank you makcik gang, ting tongs and the apex people for visiting my house... Today was the last Apex session. The girls were really sweet la plus their way of 'distracting' me and kak farhana were funny! Although it failed. Haha. I am really gonna miss them. I pray that they will do well for the upcoming PSLE. Amin!

All pics will be uploaded on fb! :)

The State of Hardship

In the state of Al-Balaa’, or hardship, the believer should respond with sabr. Sabr is to have patience and ridda (acceptance) of the state in which you have been placed. You do not have to be pleased with your current situation, but you should acknowledge that the All-Knowing, the All-Seeing, has allowed you to be in this state so it must be for the best. During this time you should also increase acts of worship and obedience to Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala.

Hari raya this year was really awesome! As per normal, laughing at everyone else's antics and getting to visit relatives :)

And this year, looking at my cousins who were married and spending their first Syawal with their hubbies, I realised that my brothers or elder sister is gonna get married soon. Sooner or later, we will each be going hari raya in our own families and not as the 7 of us anymore. It's pretty sad but hey, that's life right? So, I am going to treasure each and every hari raya with them, starting from this year :)

masyaallah, ramadhan this year has just been simply amazing. I got closer to Allah alhamdulillah. Of course, there's a lot a lot more to be learnt and I am glad I started the process. I am rather sad that ramadhan's gone this year and I pray that I will get to meet it again next year, amin :)

this is rather overdue but I am really glad I had iftar with syaz the other day.. haha. we were the only two aries melayus who turned but we had fun! sharing stories and all. don't worry syaz, we'll pray for each other yeah? :)

there were a lot of other iftars I went to also - apex, irsyad, makcik gang, beacon gang, saudara-mara. met up with a lot of wonderful people!

GEYLANG with makcik rasy was also happening! haha shopped a lot. I am usually thrifty with my money but that day was like whoaaaa, bought quite a few things.

Aidilfitri's here again! i expect some kecoh-ness.. haha biasalah. anw, i wanna ask forgiveness from all you readers if I have ever said or done anything to hurt you. If I owe anyone anything, do let me know. May you all be happy, insyaallah :)

.اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ فَهْمَ النَّ بِيِّينَ وَ حِفْظَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ

Allâhumma innî as’aluka fahm an-nabiyyîna wa hifdh al-mursalîn al-muqarrabîn.

{Oh Allah! I ask You for the understanding of the prophets and the memory of the messengers, and those nearest to You.}

I just completed a physics question which drained my energy away. I think I spent one hour on it :(

This video was definitely worth 80 minutes of my time. Even though I had to rush through a lab report after that. Haha. It's pretty sad how I know so little about Islam when he knew so much. And how little I appreciate the beauty of Islam when this guy here can cry for not finding it much earlier...

This has certainly been a great source of motivation for me. In becoming a better muslim. In learning more about my own religion. At the same time, I realise that now, I want to know more about myself. What I like, what I don't. What makes me really happy, what makes me sad and what makes me angry. I want to know myself inside out before I get to know other people, and I mean a life partner by that.

Oh here's something interesting:

If you have this qn:
I recently downloaded the Quran application onto my iPhone and have the entire Qur’an saved both in audio and digital forms. I have two questions: Firstly, do I need to have Wudu in order to touch my iPhone, or is wudu required only when the app is open? Secondly, would it be impermissible to take the phone to the lavatory given that the entire Qur’an is stored in digital form on its memory?

here's the answer: http://www.ilmgate.org/touching-an-iphone-or-pc-which-has-qur%e2%80%99an-stored-on-its-memory-without-wudu/

I took a picture of my tutees just now. They look so hardworking right?! Of course, look who's the tutor... hahaha

And here's a picture of my brother when we were celebrating his birthday. He actually smiled that widely in front of the camera. Haha

It's hard to cope with schoolwork and yet remain sane so the only way I'm doing that now is by telling myself that grades aren't everything :)

We have, as human beings, a storytelling problem. We're a bit too quick to come up with explanations for things we don't really have an explanation for.
