Sayyida Fozia Bora (may Allah reward her) posted a beautiful message on Deenport last year about Motherhood by Shaykh Nuh Ha Mim Keller (may Allah bless and increase his rank):
“When she has her first baby, she must manage for another life even more dependent on her personal sacrifices. By the second, third, or fourth child, her days and nights belong almost entirely to others. Whether she has a spiritual path or not, such a mother can seldom resist a glance at the past, when there were more prayers, more meanings, more spiritual company, and more serenity. When Allah opens her understanding, she will see that she is engaged in one of the highest forms of worship, that of producing new believers who love and worship Allah. She is effectively worshipping Allah for as many lifetimes she has children, for the reward of every spiritual work her children do will be hers, without this diminishing anything of their own rewards: every ablution, every prayer, every Ramadan, every hajj, and even the works her children will in turn pass on to their offspring, and, so on till the end of time. Even if her children do not turn out as she wishes, she shall be requited in paradise forever according to her intention in raising them, which was that they should be godly.
Aside from the tremendous reward, within the path itself it is noticeable that many of those who benefit most from khalwa or ‘solitary retreat of dhikr’ are women who have raised children. With only a little daily dhikr and worship over the years, but much toil and sacrifice for others, they surpass many a younger person who has had more free time, effort, and ‘spiritual works.’ What they find is greater because their state with Allah is greater; namely, the awe, hope, and love of the Divine they have realized by years of sincerity to Him.” Shaykh Nuh Ha Mim Keller

Doa while entering the mosque:
Allahummaftahli abbwaba rahmatik.
Doa while leaving the mosque:
Allahumma inni as-aluka min fadhlik.
Alhamdulillah.. The past two days have been very enjoyable for me :) I helped to mentor kids the age of 7-9 at Kindercamp. My group name was Khalifah Umar. These kids are naturally enthusiastic, but of course, over-enthusiastic at times. Hehe. I learnt that they can be really creative especially when you allow them to unleash their creativity. They get excited over the littlest things and fight over very minor things as well. Hahaha, it was very kecoh! I just couldn't help smiling la almost all the time because these kids were super cute and they themselves were smiling most of the time. One thing I didn't manage to do was to explain to this kid how clouds were formed when he asked me the question. I couldnt explain it to him in simple words! Hahaha.
Some of them are very knowledgeable too. One of them could tell me accurately the story of Nabi Ibrahim having to sacrifice his son Nabi Ismail, which was why we celebrate Aidiladha. Well, no surprise that this 7-year-old kid's name is Ismail. MasyaAllah, may these kids grow up to be Muslims of taqwa. Ameen! :D

more pics on fb!
Abg Shahiddin's coming home today! No prizes for guessing who's the happiest amongst us all :P

The baking session yesterday at Kak Hanisah's house was successful! Alhamdulillah.. We baked chocolate banana muffins and chocolate walnut tartlets. Super yummy! Haha I've started my own recipe book where I compile the recipes which I like. In the future, I hope to cook/bake on my own :) Love my sisters! (that includes my FSIL of course). Haha

We watched the movie Bride Wars and my sisters made an excellent point. Hollywood puts a whole lot of emphasis on weddings instead of what comes after it. It's evident that celebrities' weddings are super grand with budgets of over millions of dollars. But what happens to the marriages? They don't last. Their whole idea about marriage is just wrong.
Then again, I was touched by the movie towards the end when it talked about having a best friend in you life. It is true that other than your family, your best friend will be the one who will stand by you through thick and thin for the rest of your life. Syukur ya Allah for my best friend, Safarina..

While in KL, my dad gave me a very powerful piece of advice. He told me that for a woman to enter Paradise, she needs to fulfil three things:
1) Prayers
2) Fasting
3) Obedience to her husband, where it does not go against Allah's command
Syukran ya abi.. May Allah continue to guide me always. Ameen :)

I wanna watch sunset and sunrise :)
Really loved the weather today. It was still so cooling at around 10-11. Alhamdulillah. Managed to enjoy the sea breeze just now :) My elder sister told me that Ustaz did mention that in Paradise, the weather will constantly be like that of after subuh. Of course, it would be even better. Ahhhh, how nice..
Will be going to Malaysia this Saturday. I intend to read books there. It shall be my source of entertainment haha. InsyaAllah, will have a safe and enjoyable trip! :D
Thank you family and friends for all the lovely outings this week. Looking forward to more next week and the week after!
ya Allah, lindungilah hati hambaMu ini..

yesterday was an awesome day spent with the kids! plus the two grown-ups. haha. The kids are from Australia and they were awesome company. I love their names!
Sakinah, 9
Ibrahim, 2
Mariam, 7
Khatijah

While we were walking, we saw this man who was top-naked, wearing his shirt on and Mariam said to me, "Isn't it not good for us to see them like that if we are not married to them?". I was stunned for a moment. MasyaAllah, she's only 7 yet she knew what was right and wrong. Alhamdulillah. May these kids grow up to be good muslims, Ameen :)

I truly believe that children are God's gift to us. They make the world a happier place. Nothing better to cheer me up than just being surrounded by them. Seeing them play UNO, arguing abt the rules, reenacting Harry Potter spells with much energy and being indignant about me eating some imaginary food they made up. Hahahaha. Their happiness is truly contagious la and the best part is, they become excited over the slightest things. Their hearts are just so pure and innocent, masyaAllah.. They teach me to enjoy the simple things in life. Alhamdulillah. Thank you so much my nieces and nephews. Love you all. Ya Allah, thank you for the blessing..
My uncles and aunties have been extremely nice as well..For example, one fetched me from the mrt and when I reached the chalet, my aunt had prepared a cup of hot milo for me.. Alhamdulillah. I am so blessed to have them as family :)
