Alhamdulillah, cooking cum baking class at Rasy's house was a success!! Here's what the 5 makciks came up with(if you want the recipe, do leave a tag.hahaha okay macam betul :P):
Ayam masak lemak (tak pedas version) :D
Cookies and Cream cupcake!!
Telur goreng..
Konyaku Jelly!
this one i not sure of the name.. Hahaha.. Sayur hijau + sambal belacan?? Creation of cik midah and cik ros :P
Alhamdulillah..
Harder than I thought it would be.. *take a deep breath*.. bismillah..
Rasulullah SAW bersabda, “Akan datang waktunya umatku akan mencintai 5 & lupa kpd yg 5:
1. Mereka cinta kepada dunia tetapi mereka lupa kepada akhirat. 2. Mereka cinta kepada harta benda tetapi mereka lupa kepada hisab. 3. Mereka cinta kepada makhluk tetapi mereka lupa kepada al-Khaliq. 4. Mereka cinta kepada dosa tetapi mereka lupa untuk bertaubat. 5. Mereka cinta kepada gedung-gedung mewah tetapi mereka lupa kepada kubur."
Hit the nail right on the head.. MasyaAllah.. Something for me to reflect upon..
This parody video totally made me laugh!!! "We'll be nerding out tonight....." Deepthi, this song should seriously be the anthem for our engineers' club.. HAHAHA
Thank you Safa for the lovely surprise! :) I had an awesome time cycling around the neighbourhood at night and watching the oh-so-beautiful sunset.. MasyaAllah.. Love you best friend! Cooking (including trip to the pasar, haha) and baking with the makciks next friday. Can't wait. Confirm kecoh TTM! hahaha
Alhamdulillah, finally received my driving license! I owe my instructor.. Semoga dia diberi hidayah dari Allah swt. He's so nice and I was glad I fixed him as my instructor. He made me more confident with my driving. When I left the driving centre, I felt a tinge of sadness though. Like, I've spent one year plus there and now I'm never gonna go back there anymore. Weird feeling I know, hehe. Alhamdulillah.. Now I have to master driving my dad's car. Sekarang kalau drive hancur sey. haha :D
This module is aimed at providing an understanding of the fundamentals of biochemistry needed by non-life sciences majors. The module will emphasise on the relevance and application of biochemistry in biological, chemical, environmental, pharmaceutical, and engineering practices. It will cover the major aspects of cell biology, concept and importance of pH and buffers in maintenance of living systems, structure and properties of biological molecules, enzymology, cellular metabolism, microbial growth and culture, and applications of biochemistry in biological, chemical, environmental, pharmaceutical, and engineering practices. In addition to lectures, there will be laboratory and project work to help the students appreciate the relevance of biochemistry in biological, chemical, environmental, pharmaceutical, and engineering fields.
Basically the module review states that those who did not take bio in A levels will be at a disadvantage. So I'm technically at a disadvantage. Oh wells, what's new. Haha. Tak amik bio and physics kat A levels lepas tu ambitious nak amik bioengineering. Hah, padan muka sekarang.
Okay never mind. Shall be positive! InsyaAllah I can do it. Must work super hard this time and pull my grades up. MUST! Ameen...
High chance that I'll be allocated these modules for the next semester:
BN2102 - Principles of Bioengineering
Bioengineering is an interdisciplinary field and its definition varies according to the emphasis of the group. In this module, bioengineering is taken to be the application of the fundamental concepts and methods of physical science and engineering to biological and medical sciences. The goal is to teach students how to apply fundamental engineering principles to solve challenging problems in biology and medicine and to develop new medical devices. This module assumes that students have basic training in mathematics, biology, physics and chemistry. The module will be based on four main introductory modules: a) Biomaterials, b) Biomechanics, c) Biofluid and d) Medical Imaging.
BN2202 - Introduction to Biotransport
This module will present fundamental transport solutions which model the major features of biological flow. The conservation of mass, momentum, and energy in a system will be studied and applied to blood flows in the cardiovascular system. Basic knowledge of non-Newtonian fluid mechanics will also be covered. Bifurcation flow and Hemorheology in macrocirculation and microcirculation will be discussed. Mass transfer will be introduced to the students for applications in drug delivery, dialysis devices and bioreactors.
BN2401 - Biosignals Processing
This module will introduce signals and systems in both continuous and discrete time domains with examples from biomedical signals processing. The theory is motivated by examples from biomedical signals and systems, such as EEG and ECG. Numerous MATLAB commands for solving a wide range of problems arising in processing physiological signals will be illustrated. Topics will include the introduction to biosignal examples, continuous and discrete signals, linear time invariant discrete and continuous systems, convolution, Fourier series, Fourier transforms, filtering, Laplace transforms. Hands-on experiments on biosignal sampling, frequency analysis, and filtering will be performed using MATLAB.
Okay my stomach just did a somersault. I officially do not want school to start.
Watched Harry Potter 7 Part 2 with cousins today! We took up 18 seats in total. Haha! Well the movie was draggy for me in some parts. Or maybe I was just a bit sleepy since I was full also :P Awesome outing though. Love you all my family members :) In a very blissful state, alhamdulillah...
When the prophet was back in Medina and daily life had resumed its course, he heard of the unexpected arrival of three men who had met on the way and who were arriving together to meet him. Uthman ibn Talhah, Khalid ibn al-Walid, and Amr ibn al-As were all coming to convert to Islam and pledge allegiance to the Prophet, whom they had fought so fiercely for so many years. The Prophet was very happy about that, and so were all the Companions, who were aware of the three men’s qualities: their commitment was sincere and unreserved, and the future was not to disappoint them, as it was to be strewn with success. Those conversions, like Abu Hurayrah’s some time before, were pregnant with teachings, for not only was the past of Islam’s worst enemies forgotten as soon as they recognized God’s oneness, but the time these people had needed in order to follow the path of this recognition said nothing about their sincerity, their moral qualities, and their future status within the community of faith.
After being hostile to the Prophet and his message for almost twenty years, they had undergone a profound conversion, and during the last two years of the Prophet’s life they were to become epitomes of faith, self-abnegation, and integrity for the Companions as well as for all Muslims through the ages. Thus faith – its intensity and its power to convert and transform hearts – cannot be measured on the basis of time or rationality; its very sincerity and intensity attest to its nature, and this is why a recent convert can attain a deeper, more complete inner illumination than someone else can reach after years of religious practice. The opposite is also true, and again, this requires people to refrain from judging others’ hearts.
STAYCATION WITH THE MAKCIKS WAS AWESOME! First of all, we got a really nice hotel room except that I frequently made it beserak with my habit of just throwing my clothes everywhere on the floor(haha the makciks had to train me cos it's so bukan perangai anak dara :P). Looking at engagement/wedding rings, fb, twister, monopoly deal, heart-to-heart talk about cik ros and cik midah's most favourite topic(aka weddings. hahaha) and photoshoot!! But of course, the sleeping at 3.30 am will make me a bit of a zombie today though. Heh. Thank you makciks! Love you guys :)
I think right now, I need to get my fighting spirit back. Even my mum told me that I've kinda lost my semangat in the things that I do now. I'm not sure why I'm behaving this way but I guess I've to start placing trust in Allah that things will be better. I shouldn't lose hope now. There's still a long way to go. InsyaAllah, things will be fine. Ameen..
Abg Shahiddin graduated yesterday! Dah besar ah abang kiter. Lepas tu next year nak kahwin lagi. Hahaha.. I wanted to put up more photos (esp the super sweet, ehem ehem, ones but my brother dont allow so oh wells). I hope I will also graduate in 3 years time, along with my sister. InsyaAllah! Ameen..
I was talking to Kak Farhana Bibi yesterday about whether I should stay on in USP. MasyaAllah, talking to her made me realise one thing. I haven't been seeking knowledge fully for the sake of Allah. I was telling her how I felt I wouldnt be up for it or I might not be able to graduate from USP and she asked me.. What's ur niat in being in USP? To seek the knowledge or the cert? And subhanAllah, it just dawned on me. Ya Allah, forgive me for my sins.
It reminded me of Ustadh Yahya Rhodus' lecture I'm listening to (which btw is truly AMAZING, masyaAllah. The title is Disciplining the Soul. There's ten lectures of it in total). He said in the lecture that Imam Ghazzali said that there are three types of students in this world. One who seeks knowledge totally for the dunya and with bad intentions of using that knowledge. He said that it is haram for teachers to teach these type of students since they will use that knowledge in a bad way so considered like subahat. Second is seeking knowledge for the sake of Allah only and third is seeking knowledge sometimes for the sake of Allah and sometimes for the sake of the dunya (swaying back and forth). Imam Ghazzali said that teachers should teach these group of students and for those in the third category, teachers should guide them with the hope that they will fall into the second category, insyaAllah.
Im in the third category I now realise and I will need constant reminders. So thank you Kak Farhana Bibi! I guess this is the hikmah behind it all. Now I feel like Allah is showing it to myself the actual attitude I have towards my studies. This coming sem, I'll have to work harder and avoid any distractions at all costs! Must must, insyaAllah. And constantly remind myself that I have to seek knowledge for the sake of Allah.
I got lost at mediacorp today. After solat asar at a random staircase landing, I was walking around and around the whole place trying to find the reception area. Mediacorp is seriously a HUGE place. A bit scary ah cos like Sunday nobody except the props everywhere. Ended up at two wrong exits and I couldnt get through cos I didnt have a security pass. Luckily the second one, the security guard let me exit from there. Agaknya muka kesian ah tu pasal. Haha alhamdulillah :)
Anyway, it feels weird when someone close to you starts to act differently around you. Like I dunno, makes me wonder if I've done anything wrong. Hmmmmm..
Here's another meaningful passage from the book 'Jejak Warisan':
Allah Ta’ala sangat muliakan kedudukan kamu kaum perempuan. Jaga baik-baik.
I was listening in to iamammar.com today. And I heard a poem by someone, I can't remember who, from the UK. It was really awesome. About ethnic cleansing and how the US hypes up its own national security but it itself undermines the national security of other countries, esp the Islamic ones. And the last line of the poem struck me. "That's why the rainbow is one of the most beautiful thing on earth. Because it helps us appreciate colour". It was like a MasyaAllah moment. We don't think about it do we? We just observe it in awe. Now that she mentioned it, a rainbow is itself a spiritual teaching for us. So many things we can learn from it.
The next time I see a rainbow, it won't be just an ordinary rainbow :)
Maya sounded so happy when she said her poem!!! Like I can just feel her excitement of saying it in front of Boonaa Mohammed. And talking to him! She really made my day cos her happiness from her tone was just contagious I tell you. I was smiling widely after listening to her. Thanks Maya. MasyaAllah, may Allah bless you sister :)
We have, as human beings, a storytelling problem. We're a bit too quick to come up with explanations for things we don't really have an explanation for.
